Hijab fight turns ugly in Mangochi, Mmanga Primary School windows damaged

The disagreements between Muslim and Christian communities near Mangochi turn off in Balaka today turned ugly when the two sides clashed.

Irate mob from the two camps damaged windows for Mmanga Primary School, Mmanga Anglican Parish, Mmanga Parish Priest House and some Mosques near the schools.

Some shops were also damaged by the irate people.

As of 12 midday, the attacks were continuing as people were being targeted within their households.

Eastern Region Police Publicist Joseph Sauka who is at the scene says police is doing everything possible to control the situation.
