Hamza Aziz Media Director for the Ziyara Parade has said the cerebration march which all Muslims makes around the World is very important because the Prophet Muhammad “peace be upon him” was born on this day on the Islamic calendar.
He said this a day of mercy to all mankind because without his coming Islamic religion could have been existed to the World.
“When we remember about his birth Muslims around the World engages themselves in a number of charitable activities to help the needy” he said.
Aziz said for instance this year they have donated a number of food items and other essentials to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QUECH) as well as cheering those who are sick.
He said the Prophet was sent by Allah to show people how they can live as human beings.
Coordinator for this year’s Ziyara Parade Muhammad Abdul Jabbar also said the celebrations are important in the sense that the Prophet Muhammad was sent to help the society, serve the needy and the poor.
He said they want to make Malawi a country of peace and love by emulating the good works which the Prophet did.
On the same development thousands of Muslims from different parts of the southern and many high profile people attended this year’s Ziyara Parade at Mpingwe Sports Club.
