Atupele distances himself from Livimbo school sale

United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi has distanced himself from the dubious sell of public land including Livimbo school land to Malawians of Asian origin.

Two weeks ago, Minister of Lands and Housing Simon Vuwa Kaunda publicly told Malawians to blame Atupele on the sale of Livimbo School since it was sold during his tenure.

But speaking in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS), Atupele trashed Vuwa’s claims, saying his hands are clean.

Muluzi has since said he is in support of land investigations to bring sanity in the system.

Meanwhile Lilongwe City Council has demolished warehouses built around Livimbo School in the capital Lilongwe.

The case is currently under investigations.
