Man dies in car accident in Nkhata-Bay

A 38 year old man has died at Chigwiti in Nkhata Bay after a vehicle run over him in the wee hours of Boxing Day, on the road where he had slept while drunk.

Nkhata Bay Police spokesperson, Kondwani James said it is believed that the deceased pedestrian, Emmanuel Msimuko, got drunk and slept on the road after he failed to make it home.

“Unknown motor vehicle which is believed to have been heading to Chintheche from Nkhata Bay Boma direction run over him and he died on spot due to severe head injuries,” he said.

James advised imbibers to be responsible when taking beer to avoid such losses.

The deceased hailed from Fyatira Village Traditional Authority (TA) Mnyanja in Kasungu.
