Airtel Malawi has given the Malawi National Assembly’s 193 legislators internet dongles worth a sum of MK965,000. National Assembly speaker Henry Chimunthu Banda announced in the national assembly on Thursday, 24 February 2011, that the mobile company has donated the gadgets which will help them be efficient.
“The dongles will enable members to access internet and become even more useful to their constituents,” he said.
In an interview with Bizcommunity after the speaker’s announcement, Airtel PR manager Edith Tsirizani said they saw the need after learning that the National Assembly has bought laptop computers for all the legislators earlier this year.

“We want them to be able to access internet at all times,” she said.
