VSO is the world’s leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries.

Your skills could help communities in the world’s poorest countries. Each year, hundreds of people complete rewarding placements as VSO volunteers in more than 40 countries.

Duties: Practical health care service delivery and improved health care and treatment, management of health staff (nurses, doctors and health care workers) and systems, including implementing medical protocols and policies for care of patients. Carry out consultations, treatments and health care visits.

Skills: Surgery, training/mentoring.

Knowledge: General practice management, HIV & AIDS, surgery, genealogical Unit, tropical medicine, reproductive health

You could be working in Malawi, Uganda and Tanzania.

As a VSO volunteer you will live and work at the heart of the community, living in similar conditions as your local colleagues. Apart from accommodation, you will receive a monthly living allowance, health insurance, return flight, pre-depature training, support from staff in country and a resettlement package.
