World netball 2011 AUSTRALIA v MALAWI In Quarter-finals TOMORROW

Malawi Queens have reached the quarter finals of the World Netball Championships after outclassing Barbados73-44 yesterday in Singapore .

For the second time, Malawi ’s first ever professional netball player Mwayi Kumwenda, who plies her trade in Australia with Peninsula Waves, was crowned player of the match. She also received the similar award when she led the Queens to beat Malaysia 66-35.

During the game, Grace Mwafulirwa, Sindi Simtowe, Mwayi Kumwenda were substituted after sustaining minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the Malawi national team will meet Austria tomorrow in the quarter-finals. Australia are the tourney’s defending champions and number two netball team in the world.

Other players doing a good job for the queens in Singapore are Sindi Simtowe, Ellen Chibokho, Beatrice Mpinganjira-Kadango, Florence Chirwa, Joyce Mvula, Grace Mwafulirwa, Bridget Kumwenda, Caroline Ngwira and Towera Vikhumbo, Joanna Kachilika and Tina Kamzati.
