Malawi’s only female boxing pugilist Agness Mtimaukanena has made history by becoming Africa’s Welter weight Champion after defeating Kenyan Susan Anderson.
Mtimaukanena 20 made the history yesterday after knocking down Suzan in a ten round tittle bout at Nankhaka stadium in Lilongwe.
Mtimaukanena’s wonderful punches left the cloud wild at Nankhaka and dominated almost all the rounds but won the bout on points.
Speaking after her loss Suzan Anderson attributed the loss due to fatigue but promise to challenge Agness again for a rematch.
Agness Mtimaukanena came into the boxing lime light after she deafeated Hamisa Willy a Tanzanian female boxer in 2011 in Tanzania.
