Malawi Parliament passes a bill that will allow the government to borrow K3 billion from the Arab Bank for economic development in Africa.
The loan is meant to cater for the second phase of the small farmers irrigation project in the region of lake Malawi.
The bill seeks to resuscitate irrigation schemes which were abandoned after the Malawi congress party regime went out of power in 1994.
