The government has no plans to disrupt the January 17 demonstrations being organised by the Consumer Association of Malawi (Cama), Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu was said. Kunkuyu was yesterday responding to accusations from organizers of the said demonstrations that government is funding some groups to counter their protest through negative campaign and obtaining a court injunction. “They should not cook up reasons. They can honourably say they have listened to people’s views and government’s willingness to have dialogue and so they are cancelling the demonstrations; but not that the government is blocking them.
