Zomba-Blantyre road now opened

The Zomba-Blantyre road is now passable, Roads Authority says.

During the past two weeks, the road has been impassable with motorists being advised to use Zalewa road, with some using Chiradzulu, when going to Zomba..

Heavy rains brought a lot of mud and cut off the road at Njuli area.

The rains brought a lot of mud, due to the construction works currently underway.

Roads Authority spokesperson Portia Kajanga told the media that repair works are being intensified to ensure that road users are not totally cut off from accessing the designated routes.

Motorists can now use the road which has been in bad shape for the past two weeks, said Kajanga.
