Voter education accreditation starts end of March

The accreditation process of organizations, which will conduct voter and civic education ahead of tripartite elections next year will be done by the end of the month, MEC official says.

The Malawi electoral Commission (MEC) called for representatives of civic society organizations to apply for the role.

The Commission’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Sangwani Mwafulirwa told the media that the commission has received an overwhelming response from various organizations and is preparing for an evaluation exercise to start soon.

For an organization to be accredited, it has to be registered in accordance with the laws of Malawi, and should produce audited accounts and proof that they are capable of sourcing their own funding for the voter and civic education activities they wish to undertake.
