Mozambique President Guebuza visits Malawi

Armando Emilio Guebuza, President of the Republic of Mozambique is in Malawi for a three day state visit.

During the visit, President Guebuza and Malawi President Joyce Banda will hold bilateral discussions aimed at further strengthening the relations of the two countries.

“They will witness the signing by their Ministers of Energy, of an Agreement for Malawi-Mozambique Power Inter-connector Project, that will enhance Malawi’s energy capacity,” reads a statement from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The statements add that it is also expected that Memorandum of Understanding on Public security and Immigration; Environment; and Youth and Sports, under the framework of Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation between the two Governments will also be signed.

“It is equally expected that Presidents Banda and Guebuza will hold discussions of regional nature, as they are current Vice Chair and Chair respectively, of Southern Africa Development Community (SADC),” says the statement.

President Guebuza will also officially open the Malawi-Mozambique Business Forum to be held on Thursday in Lilongwe.
