Vice President to attend Livuza’s burial ceremony

Vice President, Khumbo Kachali is on Wednesday expected to attend the burial ceremony of Mr. Anthony Livuza who until his death was the Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Information.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Information, the burial shall take place from 12 noon at his Namputu Village, T/A Chikumbu in Mulanje District.

Mr Livuza died on Sunday at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital in Blantyre after a short illness. Medical sources say he died from a blood clot and kidney failure.

Livuza was born in 1968 in Mulanje District and is survived by a wife and three sons.

He joined the Ministry of Information as a reporter in 1988 and rose through the ranks to the position of Principal Secretary in 2002.

While in position of Principal Secretary, Livuza worked for several other Ministries including Ministries of Education, Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Natural Resources, Energy and Environment before returning to the Ministry of Information in August last year.
