The death of youthful dancehall artist Mafunyeta Maluli real name patrick Magalasi has shocked President Joyce Banda and the local music industry.
President Joyce Banda joined Malawians in mourning Mafunyeta who died on Sunday night after an asthma attack.
President Joyce Banda said she was saddened by the death of Mafunyeta and she led in observing a minute of silence in honour of Mafunyeta during the commemoration of the 2013 International Youth Day at Ntcheu grounds on monday.
Patrick Magalasi aka Mafunyeta, born 27 March 1988, died on 11 August, 2013 and will be buried this afternoon.
According to Times reporter Sam Banda Jnr, Deputy Local Government and Rural Development minister Godfrey Kamanya, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Abel Kayembe, the DC, State House officials, musicians, government officials and people from all walks of life are attending the funeral in Mwanza.
