Three names have emerged as possible contenders for the running mate position of DPP candidate, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika. It is said said that according to the DPP constitution, if a party president is coming from the South as is the case now then the running mate has to come from the Centre. In that spirit, three names have been suggested to partner with him.
It is said that the party will go on a wider consulting process before choosing the running mate from the list of Dr. Heatherwick Ntaba, Dr. Jean Kalirani and Mr. Henry Chimunthu Banda who was floored by the same Mutharika at the DPP convention.
