President Joyce Banda has come out flat out declaring war against her own technocrat finance minister, Maxwell Mkwezalamba, and the austerity measures the minister announced yesterday.
Yesterday, the minister announced that government was suspending all official travels both within and without the borders of the country of government officials including those of the President.
However, a few hours into the announcement the President is on the road and today will be in Ntchisi in a total disregard of what her own appointed minister has announced.
Reports further indicate that on the 28th of this month, President Banda will be traveling to Nigeria for a presentation on democracy, the price and the prize.
Critics had already cast doubt over Mkwezalamba’s austerity announcements bearing in mind the Malawi leader’s love for the road and air.
