DPP UNLEASHES CHILIMA ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

The protocol of the corporate world is now being purged out of his blood, the demands of politics are being pumped into him. That is one Saulos Chilima, the running mate to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate, Peter Mutharika.

The opposition DPP has today unleashed Chilima on the campaign trail in his home district of Ntcheu in what some have observed as his way of gaining copnfidence to speak to the rural masses in the way of every other politician.

Chilima’s take on the campaign trail comes just soon after the running mate to the PP leader, Sosten Gwengwe, had held another mass rally in his Dedza Central constituency where he claims to have gone to inform the masses of his acceptance of President Banda’s choice to have him as her running mate.

Chilima has as well started his campaign in his home district of Ntcheu from which he has just been given the title of Impi (meaning warrior) by some DPP zealots as well as amunamuna (real men) which are both of a certain value among the Ngonis of Ntcheu.

Meanwhile, Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) has indicated that it is organizing a debate for running mates of the four parties that are DPP, MCP, UDF and PP on a date that is yet to be announced.

Chilima, who had been at the helm of Airtel Malawi at the time of his move into politics, has already declared that he is not standing as an MP in the constituency in which he comes from.
