AIRTEL ADMITS THAT LAST YEAR’S ECONOMIC MISFORTUNES AFFECTED ITS OPERATIONS

One of the country’s leading mobile service providers, Airtel Malawi says the country’s economic downturn last year has impacted its business.
Airtel Malawi Public Relations Manager, Edith Tsirizani, said this in an interview during the second draw of Tipate Cash promotion where Airtel is giving a weekly price of three hundred Thousand kwacha to six winners.
According to Tsirizani power and forex shortages have negatively affected its business.
“Power supply and forex scarcity affected its business in our financial year though we believe that the renovations at Kapichira and Mkula Falls have potential to make us have an improved performance next year.” Tsirizan said
