Barely few days after opposition political parties warned Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) on the possibility of rigging of election in the forthcoming tripartite election, unknown thugs in Machinga district have stolen a voter verification document.
According to the police who have confirmed of the development, say the incident happened on Wednesday night at Mikacho registration center in the district.
MEC spokesperson Sangwani Mwafulirwa confirmed of the development by saying everything that was stolen has been recovered except the empty ballot box.
Meanwhile police in the district have launched a search of thugs in connection with the robbery.
