Malawi Congress Party(MCP) Presidential torchbearer Dr Lazarus Chakwera has assured Malawians that once voted into power on May 20, the party has no any intention of bringing back the one party rule.
Chakwera said this Yesterday during the final round of Presidential debate held at Victoria Hotel in Blantyre.
“The current MCP leadership represents the new generation and there is no way we can slide backward to Kamuzu era.
“I do not have an axe to grind, I just want to serve,” he said.
MCP ruled the country for 31 years and now is looking forward to a comeback after a 20 years break.
Out of 12 Presidential candidates 11 showed up for the final debate.
