MIA TO FOLLOW KACHALI TO DPP, TO BE UNVEILED ON THURSDAY

The plot is thickening while the time is running out. Days after the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) welcomed into its fold the former ruling Peoples’ Party (PP) Vice-President for the Northern region Khumbo Kachali who is also the country’s Vice President, the party is set to welcome another former Vice President of their rivals, FaceofMalawi understands.

Information in our custody indicates that former Vice President of the PP in the Southern region who dumped the party and announced a temporary resignation from politics, Sidik Mia, has already joined the DPP and will be unveiled to the public on Thursday.

This information comes hot on the heels of revelations that the lower shire political gladiator has joined the campaign trail for the DPP.

A source has indicated that Mia has been in touch with the DPP and the party has initially welcomed him and will eventually be publicly unveiled this week Thursday, a day before the DPP wraps up its election campaign.

“Mia will be welcomed on Thursday, he is already in the fold and has gone on the ground campaigning for our party, the DPP, and its leader, Peter Mutharika,” said a source.

After resigning from the PP, Mia was linked with various parties including the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and the United Democratic Front (UDF).
