CHAKWERA ASK MALAWIANS TO DESIST FROM VIOLENCE

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Presidential torchbearer Dr Lazarus Chakwera has urged Malawians across the country to desist from any  act of violence as the first ever tripartite election is under way.

Chakwera said this at Malembo Primary School in Lilongwe North West Constituency after casting his ballot.

“As a true statesman, I urge all political divides to refrain from indulging themselves in ugly scenes as witnessed at Lilongwe District Council’s Office last Sunday whereby people wanted to torch vehicles belonging to Lilongwe City Council on suspicion of rigging.

“We need to be tolerant to one another in order to live in harmony,” said Chakwera.

He also pledge to accept the outcome of the result whether positive or negative.

MCP is looking for a comeback after 20 years break.
