MCP OBTAINS INJUNCTION AGAINST DPP INJUNCTION

Drama continues to lock the country’s tripartite election, unconfirmed reports reaching Face of Malawi indicate that Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has also obtained an injunction challenging the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) stay order.
DPP obtained an Injunction challenging MEC decision to do vote recounting, saying its unconstitutional.
The development meant that MEC will proceed with the counting of votes and release the results within the period of 8 days as required by the law.
With the new development it means there will be re-count of votes.
