Football Association of Malawi(FAM) has disclosed that Flames midfielder Robert Ng’ambi and South Africa-based defender Harry Nyirenda have been ruled out of African Cup of Nation (AFCON) second preliminary round, second leg against Chad.

FAM general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda confirmed the development in an interview.

Ng’ambi picked an injury in South Africa while playing for his club and doctors advised him to be out of football for three weeks.

This means by the time Malawi will be playing Chad Ng’ambi will not be fully recovered from the injury.

His counterpart, Harry Nyirenda will not feature because his club [Black Leopards] has refused to release him.

This second leg will be played on Saturday  in Nd’jamena.

Meanwhile the flames will tomorrow play an International friendly match with the Taifa stars of Tanzania.
