President elect Professor Peter Mutharika of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will be sworn in this morning, FaceofMalawi understands.
Information that FaceofMalawi has indicates that Mutharika will be crowned the Malawi President officially at the High court premises in Blantyre after being declared by Mec as victor in the May polls.
Meanwhile, it has not been established if any foreign dignitary will attend the swearing in ceremony of Mutharika who will become the fifth President of the republic, taking over the mantle from Joyce Banda.
The elections had been closely contested and had been reported to have contained serious irregularities. Mec had applied to the court to have the dates for the announcement of the elections extended but the court rebuffed them forcing them to declare Mutharika winner.
