GODFREY KAMANYA DEAD: COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER LOSING MALAWI MP ELECTIONS

Reports coming in indicate that Former Deputy Minister of Local Government, Godfrey Kamanya has committed suicide barely a day after the Malawi Elections results started filtering in showed him losing his parliamentary seat. Kamanya was competing in the May 2014 Tripartite Elections under the PP Ticket. The former PP official and deputy minister is reported to have shot himself at his house in Area 10 Lilongwe after losing Lilongwe Msodzi North Parliamentary elections. The incident is reported to have happened at around 3:30 this morning. Kamanya is on record for having told Parliament last year that, “Mr Speaker Sir, the DPP government lied to Malawians that things were normal when in actual sense the country was in a mess. DPP was a disease that would have killed Malawians if it had continued running this country.”
