JB CHALLENGES SOCCER LOVERS TO ASSIST BULLETS,WANDERERS

Her Excellency Dr Joyce Banda has urged well wishers in the country to join hands in raising funds for two soccer giants in the country(Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers).

She said this yesterday at Kamuzu stadium where she presented a cheque worthy K25million each to the two teams.

“I know that our footballers face a lot of challenges in their day to day lives since there is no pension and salary for our footballers. Bullets and Wanderers entertain us through football, and l feel it is unfair for them to continue suffering as if we cannot fundraise money for them. I have set the ball rolling, and l expect others to follow suit,” said Banda.

People who witnessed the ceremony also had a chance to see the two teams tussling in a friendly match which ended in a draw.

When asked for comment officials of the two teams jointly said they will make sure that the money is used for intended purposes.
