Following revelations by President Professor Author Peter Mutharika that government is not ready with the 2014-15 budget and it  will table Provisional three-months National Budget, reports sourced by Face of Malawi indicate that Minister of Finance Goodall Gondwe will table the Provisional Budget next week.

Gondwe disclosed this in an interview with one of the local daily papers in the country (Nation Newspaper)

Finance Minister was quoted as saying “the provisional budget is ready and will be presented next week”.

“But after that we will conduct consultations with the public. There are some fundamental things we have to discuss with the public for them to give their views,” Gondwe said.

In his State of the National Address, Mutharika hinted that he want the budget to be in line with the DPP manifesto.

Meanwhile the full 2014/15 National Budget will be presented in September.
