JCE EXAMS A SUCCESS -MANEB

The Malawi national Examinations board has branded the administering of this year’s Junior Certificate Examinations as successful.

Speaking in an interview spokesperson for Malawi National examinations Board- MANEB Simeon Maganga, said the board has managed to organize JCE examinations because it had prepared well before.

Commenting on the concerns Malawi Union for Blind- MUB noted during the standard eight exams where some subjects were not friendly to the visually impaired candidates, Maganga said they have addressed the grievances that the union presented to the board and that they do not expect any errors with brail materials in the JCE.

MUBU noted irregularities on brail papers that were declared fit for the sitting pupils – a development that forced it to conclude that MANED was reckless in handling the welfare of the visual impaired candidates.

Stakeholders are therefore monitoring the situation as the JCE exams will be in progress.

So far, no serious cases have been reported, a situation that brings hopes that this year’s smooth running of JCE’s organization -can match its past excellence.
