“The celebrations will start at around 8: 30 in the morning with interdenominational service of worship at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC), and thereafter at Civo Stadium,” the Vice President highlighted.

He added, “At the Civo stadium, there will be a light of a touch marking the start of another 50 years journey and beyond.”

Additionally, there will be a joint Parade by the Malawi Defence Force (MDF), Malawi Police Service (MPS), Malawi Prison Service (MPS) and the Immigration Department.

According to Chilima, several guest both local and International have been invited to patronize the invent  .

“As I speak now, I have no names of people who have confirmed to attend the celebrations, but as a matter of fact we have invited guests from Britain, Nigeria and SADC as well,”

“Former Presidents and Vice Presidents of Malawi have also been invited for the function as they are also part of the achievements that Malawi has made in the 50 years,” Chilima told the journalists.

Meanwhile the theme for the country’s golden jubilee is yet to be adopted.
