Police in Thyolo have arrested a 28 year old man, Humphreys Nelson for allegedly cutting off his wife’s private parts because she refused to have sex with him.
Thyolo police Officer in Charge, Josiah Kanthiti confirmed of the incident.
According to the police, the incident happened on Sunday July 13 at Njale Village where the family lives and at this day the Husband left early in the morning without saying where he was going.
“According to the statement recorded from the wife, the husband came home around past seven in the evening while drunk and demanded sex from his wife of which the wife denied.
“Still angry with the response she got from her wife, Nelson went outside the house and came back with a sharp object and cut his wife’s private parts,” he said, adding that the victim was later taken to Thyolo District Hospital where she was admitted after losing a lot of blood.
The victim, Margaret Saizi, 45, comes from Chimeta village in the area of Traditional Authority Mphuka while Nelson, who is a primary school teacher at Chilengo, hails from Nchilamwera village in T/A Nchiramwela in the district.
Nelson will answer Charges of unlawful wounding contrary to section 241 of the Penal Code
