GOVT SAYS CALLISTA IS NOT MUTHARIKA’s ADVISOR

The Government of Malawi through Ministry of Information Tourism and Civic Education has clarified that former First Lady, Madam Callista Mutharika is not among the advisors of President but she is just the National Coordinator of Safe Motherhood and Population Services.
This has been disclosed in a press statement issued to the media signed by Minister of information Kondawani Nankhumwa dubbed misinformation on presidential advisors.
“It is worth clarifying that the former First Lady, Madam Callista Mutharika, is not among the advisors of the President as it is being claimed. As a matter of fact, she is the National Coordinator for the function of Safe Motherhood and Population Services”, read part of the statement.
Callista will serve under Ministry of Health where her post has been shifted during the restructuring process by President Peter Mutharika and she will replace Chief Kwataine of Ntcheu who was appointed by former President Dr. Joyce Banda.
Meanwhile it is not known as to how much she will be receiving as it is not indicated in the statement.
