BURIAL OF PARAMOUNT CHIEF MKHUMBA UNDERWAY IN PHALOMBE

The burial of Paramount Chief Mkhumba of Phalombe District is currently under in Phalombe where the Country’s Vice President Saulosi Klaus Chilima is in attendance.
Speaking in an interview before the ceremony, Chairperson of Mulhakho Wa Alhomwe Bright Mangulama said:
“The late Paramount Chief whose real name is John Kenneth Maula has died at the age of 82 after succumbing to prostate cancer”, Mangulama said.
The late Mkhumba, seventh in the Mkhumba chieftaincy lineage, became chief in 1988 and was elevated to Paramount Chief in 2008, making him the first ever traditional leader to hold that position in the Lhomwe belt.
