President Professor Author Peter Mutharika is expected to return home on Sunday August 10, 2014 from the United State of America where he attended the first ever US-African Leaders’ Summit.
This is according to the Press statement from the office of the President and Cabinet released on Friday.
The Summit which was attended by over 30 African Heads of State and Government focused on the theme ‘Investing in the Next Generation” and how the leaders can together sustain Africa’s transformation.
The plane carrying the President is expected to land at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at around 11:00.
On Tuesday the President will hold a press briefing following the trip, at Kamuzu Palace from 2p.m.
This is the first trip for Mutharika since he was elected as President on the May 20.
