SECOND ROUND OF THE TNM SUPER LEAGUE RESUMES THIS WEEKEND

The 65 Million Kwacha TNM Super League second round will resume this weekend.

Moyale Barracks who are currently in the lead with 29 points, level with Big Bullets FC but top the table due to goal difference, while Blantyre United is at the bottom of the table with 11 points.

The first round did not end in a good manner following Silver Strikers’ decision to abandon their game against Moyale Barracks after referee Aziz Nyirenda awarded a controversial penalty to Moyale Barracks with 5 minutes to go on the clock when the game was tied at 1-1.

But despite the incident, the first round was a success, registering 259 goals, beating the previous record of 256 goals registered in the first round of the 2013 league season.

The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has since advised teams to accept results even if the referee was incompetent in handling the proceedings of the match.

Sulom has also encouraged teams to play under protest rather than abandoning a match which may result into severe punishment from the football administrators.
