16 PEOPLE ARRESTED IN SWEEPING EXERCISE IN KASUNGU

Police in Kasungu have arrested 16 people during a sweeping exercise conducted on 2nd and 3rd September, 2014 in Kasungu Township.

Kasungu Police Publicist Sub Inspector Edwin Kaunda confirmed of the development in an interview.

“We conducted the sweeping exercise to make sure that some suspected criminals within Kasungu Township are got rid of. All the 16 are males who are in the age ranges of 18 and 32,” said Kaunda.

Kaunda said the suspects will appear in court soon to answer various charges.

Meanwhile residents have hailed the move taken by the police.
