A 41-year-old man is reported dead while other 18 people have sustained injuries in a road accident in Dedza at Mphatawamilonde.
Police spokesperson sergeant Edwin Kabango confirmed of the accident and identified the deceased as Iman Arabi from Chiluzi Village T/A Kasumbu in the district.
According Kabango, the vehicle registration number SA 1986 five tone lorry was coming from Chikuse to Lithipe 1, and as it was descending it lost its brakes and people were falling from the vehicle.
The survivors are receiving treatment at Dedza district hospital.
Meanwhile the driver identified as Mussa Ibrahim 22 who hails from Arabi Village T/A Kasumbu survived with minor injuries and he will face charges soon after responding to treatment.
