MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING FUEL

A-32-year-old man is in police custody in Lilongwe for allegedly stealing over 440 diesel fuel worth about MK400, 000 belonging to Mota Engel Company.

Lilongwe Police Public Relations Officer, Kingsley Dandaula confirmed of the arrest and identified the suspect as Stewart Songazaudzu.

According to Dandaula, the suspect was arrested on Monday after receiving a tip that Songazaudzu was selling the at Ntaya site near Bunda turn-off in the district.

“After the arrest we called Mota Engel Officials who had been complaining of theft of their fuel and they identified the commodity as belonging to their company because it had a unique colour and different from the fuel being sold in other filling stations in the country”, said Dandaula.

The suspect will appear in court soon.

Songazaudzu hails from Kaphiri Village in Senior Chief Tsabango in Lilongwe.
