WOMAN NABBED FOR ARSON

A-25-year-old woman is in police custody in Salima for allegedly trying to destroy her house with fire after picking a quarrel with her husband over family dispute.

Salima Police Publicist Sergeant Gift Chitowe confirmed of the arrest and identified the suspect as Regina Jossam M’balaka who hails from Simpha village in the area of Chief Kalonga in the district.

He explained that, upon arrival at home things did not go well with her husband.

In the process of quarreling, the woman took some burning charcoal and threw on top of her thatched house that caught on fire.

According to Police, the suspect removed all the properties before setting ablaze her house.
The matter was reported to the Police who later arrested the woman.

M’balaka will soon appear in court to answer arson charges.
