President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is today afternoon expected host a luncheon to all presidential candidates who contested in the May 20 2014 elections.
According to State House press office, the luncheon is expected to start at 12 noon at Sanjika Palace in the country’s commercial city of Blantyre.
The gesture is intended to promote a sense of camaraderie among all those who contested for the presidential seat and at the same time commend the former contenders for participating in the landmark event.
Some of the Presidential candidates who are expected to be present at the function include; former President of New Labour Party (NLP)Friday Jumbe , United Democratic front (UDF) Atuple Muluzu, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and others.
Notably missing from the event will be the incumbent Joyce Banda who is currently outside the country.
