FORMER MBC PRODUCER DIES

Death has been announced of former Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) producer and presenter Theacra Huwa-Ngwira after she fell in her bathroom.

According to one family member, Ngwira is said to have fallen due to high blood pressure in the bathroom on Sunday.

Chief Announcer at Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, Felix Pachani confirmed of the death to the press but could not give further details about the death.

Ngwira helped in the establishment of Dzimwe Community Radio and was also coordinator of PANOS Radio Listening Club Platform at MBC.

At MBC, she used to produce and present “Mai Wamakono” radio program which is apparently being produced by Yapatula Nyirenda.

It is said she was then in special events section of MBC in the production of VVIP programs like presidential events as well as editing speeches for rebroadcasts.

Her remains will be buried today near MDC (Surestream) Stadium in Chilomoni, Blantyre according to family members.
