LUTEPO’s CASE BACK IN COURT TODAY; JB OBTAINS COURT INJUNCTION OVER THE RELEASE OF CALL LOGS

As the money laundering case involving one of the well known Businessman Oswald Lutepo resumes today in Zimba High Court, information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that former ruling People’s Party President Dr. Joyce Banda has obtained an injunction preventing the release of her call logs.

During the previous court seating ( September 4, 2014), Zomba High Court granted Lutepo access to Banda’s and former budget director Paul Mphwiyo’s call logs for fair trial as asked by the defense team led by Oswald Mtupila.

However Banda is reported to have sought an injunction from court restraining the release of the call logs.

The plundering of public funds at Capitol Hill came to light when an unknown thugs shot former budget director Paul Mphwiyo in September last year.

The development left the country’s economy in doom as all major donors reacted harshly to the move by withholding aid to the country.

In a desperate move, the current regime through President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika tabled in Parliament a Zero-Aid Budget.
