President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Wednesday vehemently blasted his critics, saying the money used in hosting a pre-Christmas party for Children at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe was personal money.

Mutharika and Madam Gertrude Mutharika hosted over 1 thousand children drawn from churches, schools and orphanages across Lilongwe city.

In his speech Mutharika could not hide his anger, saying no government money was used in the invent.

“I must hasten to say that the money used for the luncheon is my personal money and no kwacha is coming from government coffers. I don’t want mawa somenbody kumati, ‘fwee, fwee, fwee, fwee, ndipanga demonstrations and so forth there is no government money here involved,” said Mutharika.

Mutharika said that his speech was not going to the Children but to people out there who are fond of criticizing anything that his government does.

Comment on the Children, Mutharika vowed to protect the rights of Children and he said his government will deal with anyone found violating rights of Children in the country.

“My administration is implementing strict policies that aim at protecting and safeguarding the rights of all children across the country,”

“We will not relent but strive to make our country a better place for children”, said Mutharika.

Mutharika also urged the Children to develop a heart of giving.
