United Democratic Front (UDF) first Vice President Iqbal Omar has resigned from the Party on personal grounds.
Omar announced his resignation on Saturday during the Party’s executive meeting.
Confirming the development (UDF) spokesperson Ken Ndanga said Omar has just resigned from his post but is still the party member.
“I can confirm of the resignation of our Party’s Vice President Mr. Omar. He told the meeting that he had resigned due to personal reasons”, said Ndanga.

Meanwhile the Party President Atupele Muluzi who is also Minister of Energy and mining in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regime under President Professor Arthur Pater Mutharika has accepted the resignation.
