Blantyre city mayor councillor Noel Chalamanda, has appealed to the general public, organisations and well wisher to help in providing assistance to families that have been affected by floods caused by the recent rains across the country.

Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicate that Councilor Chalamanda made the remarks after touring areas affected by heavy rainstorm in Blantyre City and flood victims that are housed at Chimwankhunda Primary School, Mayamiko Orphanage Centre at Kachere, Makhetha Primary School, Makhetha Seventh Day Adventist Church and Makalanga Primary School in Machinjiri.

Recently the floods have left families scattered, homeless and also loss of property.

The Council further appealed to those willing to make donations to liaise with the Chairperson for the Blantyre City Council Civil Protection Committee, Stanford Namfuko.
