As Malawians continue to suffer from frequent blackouts, Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has assured the general public that there shall be no more load shedding following completion of maintenance services that they were doing at their main power generating sources.

ESCOM’s Chief Executive Officer John Kandulu, speaking at a press conference held in Blantyre said Malawians should not expect load shading unless caused by other problems but not due to power generation.

He said though the work has taken them a longer period than expected, they have finally finished the large part enough for the whole country.

ESCOM’s power generating machines were affected by the recent heavy rainfall which is said to have resulted in the excessive blackouts countrywide.
