President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Monday held bilateral talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame who promised to assist the country through various ways.

The meeting was held at Sheraton Hotel, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia just after the first Comesa Summit meeting.

Kagame disclosed that his government will help Malawi achieve her dream in the projects being implemented under the Mutharika administration.

“It will not be difficult for us to assist Malawi in areas such as the Decent Housing initiative because Rwanda has also developed its housing sector in the same way.

“The Decent and Affordable Housing Scheme Project is a very decent and direct way of helping the poor and I must add that we have improved our housing system through the same way. I am committed to helping your government achieve its dreams of providing Malawians with good habitable environment,”said Kagame.

Kagame also said his government will assist Malawi with technical support in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), agriculture and the Community Colleges Initiative.

President Mutharika recently launched the Community Colleges initiative which will see all the 193 constituencies in the country having atleast a technical college each that will assist the youth in those particular areas attain technical skills.

“Malawi is moving in the right direction as vocational training provide the youth with technical skills on how they can sustain themselves financially,” said Kagame.

He then pledged that Rwanda will support the project with infrastructure and technical support.
