Former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi through his lawyer has asked the High Court to transfer his MK1.7 billion corruption case from High Court to Constitutional Court, accusing the state of dictating the case.
In the application submitted to the presiding Judge, Justice MacLean Kamwambe that FaceofMalawi has come across; Muluzi has accused the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of making some decision in the case based on the influence of the state.
Muluzi has also accused former President late Professor Bingu wa Mutharika of interfering in the case during his arrest.
The former President also said during his arrest there was Political harassment.
Judicial Spokesperson Mlenga Mvula has confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press, saying the presiding Judge has since referred the case to the Chief Justice
Meanwhile the state has suspended the case.
