Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that a 45 year old man in Dowa has committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree after killing his wife and a Child.
The incident happened on Sunday at Kachikunda village in the district.
Police in Dowa have confirmed of the incident in an interview with one of the privately owned radio in the country [Zodiak Broadcasting Station] and identified the man as Ishmael Chambali.
According to the Police, Chambali had on several times accusing his wife of having an affair with another and he threatened to kill her one day.
On the fateful day, the suspect is said to have accompanied his wife and the Child to the garden where he strangled his wife and the Child to death and later hanged himself to a tree.
Postmortem results conducted at Dedza District Hospital revealed that the two died of suffocation.
Meanwhile the remains of the Child is yet to be found as others suspect that the body has been eaten by wild animals.
Chambali hails from of Kachikunda Village, Traditional Authority Chiwere, Dowa.
